Summary
The Global Device and Packaging Development organisation is launching its first GMP manufacturing plant for the assembly of drug-device combination products at the Novartis Campus in Schaftenau. Starting from 2026, the GDPD Pilot Plant will assemble pre-filled syringes into different types of medical devices and become a key player in the supply of worldwide clinical trials. Novartis is building a motivated and talented team with an interest in setting up and maintaining all processes required to make a combination product and to prepare the plant for its first batch and beyond.
Major accountabilities
- Execute assigned manufacturing tasks and activities according to production schedule to enable timely production of product with quality and quantity in compliance with relevant GMP, HSE and environmental guidelines.
- Perform commissioning activities between warehouse and production according to process orders.
- Prepare, print and consolidate batch documents and labels; perform entries and verify transactions and declarations in the SAP system.
- Execute inbound deliveries and sampling of incoming goods in the warehouse, in alignment with local procedures.
- Organize shipments for orders and perform outbound deliveries in the warehouse, including shipment organization of orders.
- Execute all assigned activities according to production schedule and in compliance with valid GMP, work, operating, environmental and safety instructions and guidelines.
- Properly handle products in the warehouse and adhere to HSE guidelines; prepare shipments according to Novartis and GMP standards.
- Manage inbound and outbound deliveries and commissioning; update SAP.
- Report technical complaints, adverse events and special case scenarios related to Novartis products within 24 hours of receipt.
Minimum Requirements
- Previous work experience in manufacturing and/or warehouse management and GMP environment preferred.
- Experience in SAP is a plus.
- Careful and exact execution of assigned tasks.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in a team setting.
- Reliability and willingness to take responsibility.
- Resilience to changes.
- This position currently does not require shift work, subject to change in later phases of the project.
- Fluent German required.
