The Oskar Morgenstern Doctoral School supports PhD students in the finishing phase of their dissertation project through short-term finishing contracts. It aims at attracting excellent students from all over the world and guides them towards research at the forefront of Business studies in a vibrant and dynamic community in the heart of Europe.

The Doctoral School offers a 6-month Completion Contract for fellows of the DocSchool who have held a position as University Assistant (praedoc) or a PhD position at the University of Vienna before. This Completion Contract aims to support a highly qualified fellow in the final phase of his:her doctoral studies. The recipient will be employed as a University Assistant (praedoc) and will work at the Department for Marketing and International Business.

Your future tasks:

You actively participate in research, teaching and administration, which means:

  • Your main task is to complete and to submit your dissertation in the area of marketing and behavioral decision-making, with a specific focus on artificial intelligence.
  • You meet and consult with your supervisor(s) on a regular basis in order to prioritise your tasks and get the necessary support to complete your dissertation successfully in time.
  • You participate in your department's and the Doctoral School activities and workshops.
  • You teach Bachelor-level courses in marketing.
  • You participate in conferences and publish research results in relevant peer-reviewed journals in marketing and related areas.
  • You actively seek support through workshops, training, coaching or similar if necessary.

This is part of your personality:

  • Above-average MA or equivalent in the field of Business Administration.
  • Excellent academic and study record, including publications in highly ranked academic journals in the field of marketing and behavioral decision-making, with a specific focus on artificial intelligence.
  • Experience teaching Bachelor courses in the field of marketing, in German and English.
  • High level of motivation and commitment to successfully complete your doctoral studies within the anticipated time frame.
  • Collaborative, team-minded and pro-active attitude.
  • High level of written and oral communication skills in German and English.
  • Experience with the structures of the University of Vienna.
