As Director Group HSE, you will shape and drive Greiner’s global Health, Safety & Environment strategy across the Greiner Group. In this key role, you will define the global HSE strategy, steer its execution, performance, strengthen our global governance, and build a strong HSE culture to ensure safe and sustainable operations worldwide. Your challenge

  • Define and drive the Group-wide HSE strategy, target operating model, and multi-year roadmap aligned with Executive Management.
  • Establish and continuously improve HSE governance, standards, KPIs, and management systems, leveraging extensive operational leadership experience.
  • Drive HSE performance through structured reviews, risk management, targeted initiatives, and escalation processes.
  • Ensure transparency of HSE risks, performance, and maturity across the Group.
  • Functional leadership of HSE expert worldwide.
  • Represent HSE at Group level towards Executive Management, Boards, and key external stakeholders.
  • Foster a strong HSE culture and cross-divisional community through collaboration, shared learning, and best-practice exchange.
  • Strengthen leadership accountability through Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS).
  • Ensure alignment with People & Culture and Sustainability on health and environmental priorities.

Your Profile

  • 10–15 years of experience in an international, regulated operations and industrial environment with proven track record in HSE.
  • Broad experience in HSE performance improvement by leveraging a comprehensive capability set, including risk management, governance and management systems, and tools such as Behaviour Based Safety and change management.
  • Experience in performance steering using lagging and leading indicators, maturity models, and structured review cycles.
  • Strong strategic and systemic thinking skills in complex organizational setups including analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Stakeholder management and influencing skills at executive level.
  • High level of credibility and ability to lead without direct line responsibility.
  • Fluency in English, German is an advantage.

In accordance with legal requirements in Austria, the minimum annual gross salary for this position as defined by the collective agreement is EUR 85,704.64 under the Chemical Industry Collective Agreement. Greiner is willing to offer a market-aligned overpayment depending on individual qualifications and professional experience.
