As Quality Engineer for the Additive Manufacturing organization in Winston-Salem, NC, you will lead quality activities in support of a growing operation and increasing manufacturing volumes. Your day will focus on establishing and maintaining robust quality standards while ensuring compliance, driving continuous improvement, and supporting operational excellence.

You will work across three key areas: management and improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), oversight of product and process quality, and leadership and training on quality-related topics. Working closely with manufacturing, engineering, operations, and suppliers, you will help implement effective quality processes, resolve quality issues, and promote a strong culture of quality throughout the organization.

This role requires a hands-on quality professional with experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with exposure to additive manufacturing, who can lead quality initiatives, support team development, and drive process improvement as the operation continues to scale.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the site's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards, including ISO 9001 and AS9100, while managing quality-related documentation and system requirements.
  • Lead internal and external quality audits and oversee the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) process, including root cause analysis, implementation of corrective actions, and verification of effectiveness.
  • Monitor production processes within the Additive Manufacturing facility to ensure compliance with established quality standards, specifications, and process controls.
  • Analyze quality data and performance metrics to identify trends, report results, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product and process quality.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and suppliers to investigate, resolve, and prevent product and process quality issues while managing supplier qualification and performance monitoring activities.
  • Lead and develop a team of quality professionals and/or technicians by establishing clear goals, supporting professional growth, and driving operational results.
  • Ensure quality policies, practices, and procedures are understood and consistently followed across the organization through effective communication, coaching, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop and deliver quality training programs for manufacturing personnel and serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related matters, helping foster a strong culture of quality throughout the organization.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field, with 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing, maintaining, or managing a Quality Management System (QMS), including compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001 and AS9100.
  • Experience leading internal and external audits, managing CAPA processes, applying root cause analysis methodologies, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing quality control principles, statistical process control (SPC), quality data analysis, process improvement methodologies, and additive manufacturing processes.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve product and process quality issues, support supplier quality activities, and drive operational excellence.
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience, including training and development of quality personnel, is preferred. Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification, and/or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification are preferred.
  • Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice versa.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
