On a customer project somewhere in the world: After the morning briefing, you will go to the site, switch on pumps, motors and other equipment and start them up. Further steps include solving unexpected problems, setting control parameters, performing tests and communicating with other engineers. At the end of the day, you will know that you have brought an energy power plant one step closer to completion.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Perform commissioning of turbines from single components to the full turbine and auxiliary system according to specifications and engineering documents.
- Carry out functional tests, logic interlock verification and reporting.
- Compile records to document equipment condition, assure quality and provide required documentation and reports.
- Prepare and execute tests to prove operational readiness.
- Provide services for power plant components including gas and steam turbine generator sets, electrolysers and battery storage systems worldwide.
- Carry out troubleshooting, record and analyze customer problems and propose or implement remedial measures.
- Work internationally on site, with the world as your office.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Several years of professional experience as a Steam Turbine Commissioning Engineer.
- Understanding of technical equipment and ability to work with technical documentation.
- Basic knowledge of general power plant technology.
- Experience in power plant operations and maintenance or Siemens steam turbine operations and maintenance know-how is a plus.
- Excellent German and English skills suitable for everyday use.
- Strong analytical skills, affinity for technology and innovation, and a proactive attitude.
- Team-player mindset, resilience, independent work under pressure and problem-solving in complex international environments.
- Willingness to travel internationally at short notice and work flexible hours.
