OHG ist die deutsche Gesellschaft des Konzerns und sitzt in Frankfurt am Main. Dahinter steht eine Gruppe mit rund 93.000 Beschäftigten in mehr als 100 Ländern.
Drei Geschäfte greifen bei IQVIA ineinander. Das Unternehmen wertet große Mengen anonymisierter Gesundheits- und Marktdaten aus und macht daraus Berichte und Analysen, auf die sich Pharmahersteller, Kliniken und Krankenkassen bei ihren Entscheidungen stützen. Als Auftragsforschungsinstitut plant und betreut IQVIA außerdem klinische Studien, mit denen neue Wirkstoffe ihre Wirksamkeit belegen müssen, bevor sie zugelassen werden. Und drittens berät die Firma Hersteller von Arzneimitteln und Medizintechnik, wenn ein Produkt auf den Markt kommt und seinen Weg zu Ärzten und Patienten finden soll. Die Kundschaft kommt entsprechend vor allem aus der Life-Sciences- und Gesundheitsbranche, dazu Krankenkassen, Behörden und Verbände.
Das heutige IQVIA entstand 2016 aus dem Zusammenschluss zweier Schwergewichte: Quintiles, einem Auftragsforschungsinstitut, und IMS Health, einem Spezialisten für Gesundheitsdaten und Marktforschung. Den Namen IQVIA trägt der Konzern seit 2017. Die globale Zentrale liegt im US-amerikanischen Durham, North Carolina. 2025 lag der Umsatz der Gruppe bei rund 16 Milliarden US-Dollar. Diese Größe schlägt sich auch in Deutschland nieder. Den Sitz hat die Gesellschaft in Frankfurt am Main, weitere Büros gibt es unter anderem in Berlin, Köln und Mannheim.
Für Bewerberinnen und Bewerber ist das Spektrum breit. Datenanalystinnen und Berater werten Marktzahlen aus und übersetzen sie in Empfehlungen für Pharmakunden. Clinical Research Associates begleiten Studien an den Prüfzentren, von der ersten Planung bis zur Auswertung. Daneben sucht das Unternehmen regelmäßig Fachleute für Vertrieb, IT und Projektmanagement. Wer hier einsteigt, arbeitet selten nur national: Projekte laufen oft über Länder- und Zeitzonengrenzen hinweg, weil die Kunden global aufgestellt sind.
