Senior MES/IT Engineer (w/m/div.)

Your tasks

  • Be an active driver of digital transformation! You will develop, optimize, and pilot Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to achieve near-zero downtime in our production lines.
  • You will oversee IT and MES topics (Level 2 support), safeguard the IT infrastructure in a highly automated production plant, and ensure seamless network and server maintenance.
  • You coordinate activities between developers, operational departments, and customer representatives to ensure streamlined service deployments. You will also manage complete IT/MES rollouts on a plant level, including crucial ERP connections.
  • You actively participate in and lead systematic problem-solving cases to identify clear root causes and implement sustainable technical solutions.
  • You define technical standards and work packages, and create training plans for colleagues. You share your deep knowledge while gaining profound insights into industrial manufacturing processes.

Your profile

  • Personality and working style: You are a highly adaptable, open-minded team player with strong prioritization and time-management skills. You have a talent for clear communication, easily adapting complex technical information for both engineers and non-technical managers.
  • Experience and Know-how: You bring multiple years of professional experience in an IT/MES role within a manufacturing or factory production environment. You have solid expertise in maintaining IT network infrastructure, server management (especially MS Windows Server), and relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
  • Enthusiasm: You are passionate about modern IT operations. Experience with containerized environments (Kubernetes, Rancher) and building data links between IT systems (e.g., Kafka, Solace) is a strong plus.
  • Education: You hold a completed university degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Information Technology, Applied Electronics, or a comparable technical field.
  • Languages: You are fluent in English. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage in our international teams.

Working Hours: 38.5 hours per week - This position is offered on a leasing basis.

For this position, a valid authorization to work in Austria is required. EU/EEA nationals have free access to the Austrian labor market. Non-EU/third-country nationals must hold a valid work and residence permit in accordance with Austrian regulations (Red-White-Red Plus Card).

We believe in offering fair compensation that reflects your skills and experience. The annual gross salary for this position starts at 53.000€/p.a based on a 38.5-hour work week and may be significantly higher depending on qualifications and experience, in line with the Collective Agreement for the Metal Industry. This position is not offered on an all-in contract basis. In addition, you will benefit from a company success bonus and a range of attractive local benefits.
